Description

A delicious and easy creamy honey garlic BBQ chicken pasta recipe that combines tender chicken, pasta, and a rich sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • to taste Salt and black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (optional, for color)
  • 1/2 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or coconut aminos)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for a lighter version)
  • 8 oz penne pasta (or pasta of choice like fusilli or rigatoni)
  • for garnish Fresh chopped parsley or green onions
  • for serving Grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. While the pasta cooks, season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using).
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add the butter, minced garlic, BBQ sauce, honey, and soy sauce. Whisk together and let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream. Stir well to combine and bring to a gentle simmer. Let the sauce cook for 3-5 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly.
  6. Return the cooked chicken and any accumulated juices to the skillet. Add the drained pasta. Toss everything together until the pasta and chicken are evenly coated in the creamy honey garlic BBQ sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  7. Remove from heat. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or green onions and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese if desired.
  8. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy!
