Description

A delicious cherry tart with a buttery crust.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a tart pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy. Gradually mix in flour and salt to form a soft dough.
  3. Press dough into the prepared tart pan.
  4. Combine cherries with sugar and vanilla in another bowl, tossing gently to coat.
  5. Pour cherry mixture over the crust evenly.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cherries are bubbly.
  7. Allow to cool completely before slicing. Serve with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, consider adding a bit of almond extract to the cherry mixture.
  • This tart can be served warm or chilled, and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
