Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Zest of one large orange
  • Powdered sugar (optional for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add vegetable oil, orange juice, vanilla extract, and orange zest, mixing until combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients. Stir gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth out the top. Bake for about 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
