Description
This creamy peanut butter frosting is perfect for spreading on cakes and cookies, or just enjoying by the spoonful!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup peanut butter (smooth or chunky, your choice)
- 1/2 cup butter, softened (ensure it’s at room temperature)
- 3 cups powdered sugar (sifted to prevent lumps)
- 1/4 cup milk (adjust for desired consistency)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (to enhance flavor)
Instructions
- Start by taking the butter out of the fridge to soften. This will help your frosting mix smoothly.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter and peanut butter. Beat them together using a hand mixer or stand mixer until they are creamy and well blended.
- Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time. Mix on low speed to keep the sugar from flying everywhere. Once incorporated, the frosting will begin to thicken.
- Pour in the milk and vanilla extract. Beat the mixture on medium speed for 1-2 minutes until you achieve a light, fluffy consistency. Adjust with more milk or powdered sugar as needed.
- Give your frosting a taste. Adjust sweetness with more powdered sugar or nuttiness with more peanut butter.
- Your Peanut Butter Frosting is now ready to be spread on your cake, cookies, or enjoyed by the spoonful!
Notes
- This frosting can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- To re-whip the frosting, bring it back to room temperature and mix until creamy.
