This delicious spiced cream cheese cake is perfect for any occasion!

- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease a 9×13-inch pan and line with parchment if desired.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger. Set aside.
- In another bowl, mix brown sugar, granulated sugar, oil, and eggs until smooth. Stir in vanilla extract.
- Add dry mixture to wet mixture in two parts, alternating with buttermilk. Stir just until combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
- For the frosting: Beat cream cheese and butter until smooth. Add powdered sugar gradually. Mix in vanilla and salt until fluffy.
- Spread frosting over cooled cake. Garnish with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.
- Slice and serve!
