Ingredients

- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- 4 cups apple juice
- 1 cup water
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 6 whole cloves
- ½ cup brown sugar (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients and wash/pit the cherries if using fresh ones.
- In a large pot, mix the apple juice and water; heat over medium until gently simmering.
- Add the cherries, cinnamon sticks, and cloves; stir well.
- Incorporate the brown sugar to taste; continue simmering on low heat for about 20 minutes.
- Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher or bowl.
- Serve warm in mugs, garnished with additional cinnamon sticks if desired.

- Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of brown sugar.
- This drink can be made with either fresh or frozen cherries.
